Morningside Gallery re-opens after major renovations
Célébrons! We are so happy to be open again and to welcome you all back in to the gallery. To celebrate, we hope you will enjoy this special mixed exhibition of paintings by artists new and familiar to the gallery. New artists include Brent Millar, Alfons Bytautas RSA, Antonio Lopez Reche and Nerine Tassie. The exhibition will also include paintings by Simon Laurie RSW RGI, John Bellany CBE RA, Charles Simpson, Christopher Wood RSW and more!
We hope you will visit us from September the 15th when our doors will finally be open again!

CHRISTOPHER WOOD | seven paintings

Christopher Wood’s work has been at the forefront of British abstract landscape painting since leaving Edinburgh College of Art in the late 1980s. His work is rooted in the experiences of living on the North Sea coast and comes from this deep connection to place and from feelings that rise when the world is explored through paint.
The power of Wood’s work comes from entering each painting as a meditation of colour and form and finding a musical, poetic, way to completion.
‘I involve myself in a dialogue with each work which continues through vociferous argument and whispered entreatments to the point where nothing more can be said.’
