Serendipity
I just received a lovely email from the owners of Pêtchi Restaurant & Bar in Jersey letting me know they have just acquired ‘Undertow’ for the restaurant.
This is a wonderful bit of serendipity as Pêtchi is a Jèrriais word meaning ‘to try to catch a fish’, and ‘Undertow’ was a direct response to my standing knee-deep for several hours on the edge of the Atlantic with the waves crashing and the draw of the currents around me, trying (and occasionally succeeding) to catch fish.

I’m delighted and extremely honoured to have been elected to membership of the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts (RGI). My thanks go to Jacqueline Orr (jacqueline.orr.9) and Neil Macdonald (@neilmacdonaldart) for my nomination and to all the members who voted. I have been exhibiting with the RGI since 1993, and have won two of their major prizes; the James Torrance Memorial Award and the Armour Award.
